Succeed as if it were on purpose!!
Now no one has ever said Internet Marketing is easy, well actually quite a few people have. You usually see them on a sales page saying ‘’Buy this report and it will make you 100,000 dollars in 7 days’’ or ‘’Easy Over-Night Cash’’ just to name examples. Did you notice some of the significant words in those phrases?
· Easy
· Over-Night
· 7 days
· Cash
Look how all the words play on what we would like to hear, something fast that gives great rewards for doing nothing! Well I’m sorry but you usually hear those words in some Al Pacino/De Niro film where they are planning on robbing a bank and that never goes down too well, does it?
The truth is there is no over-night formula that can make you rich but god knows I have shelled out some quite hefty amounts of cash over the years believing that there might be!
You see there comes a day when you have just got to let go of those dreams that someone or something will come along and be the answer to all your cash burden prayers.
After a long look in the mirror one day and feeling down into my sad empty jean pockets I made the decision that success was in my own hands and with that I stopped shelling out bucket loads of money on no good hyped up get-rich systems I even stopped playing the lottery. Although a pound a week is not a lot to lose on the lottery but the point is I made a decision that me, not luck, me and only me could change my financial situation around.
It was time for some goal-setting. I mean we all do it don’t we in our heads or jotting it down on a bit of scrap paper I’m sure we all constantly goal set. The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can’t do this. It’s too hard. It’s too impossible. No one can do this.
However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.
Try this exercise. Take a piece of paper and write down some goals in your life. Under one header, list down things ‘you know you can do’. Under another header, write the things ‘you might be able to do.’ And under one more, list the things that that are ‘impossible for you to do.’
Now look at all the headers. Strive every day to accomplish the goals that are under things ‘you know you can do’. Check them when you are able to accomplish them. As you slowly are able to check all of your goals under that heading, try accomplishing the goals under the other header-the one that reads ‘you might be able to do.’
As of the items you wrote under things I could do are accomplished, you can move the goals that are under things that are ‘impossible for you to do’ to the list of things ‘you might be able to do.’
As you iterate through this process, you will find out that the goals you thought were impossible become easier to accomplish. And the impossible begin to seem possible after all.
You see, the technique here is not to limit your imagination. It is to aim high, and start working towards that goal little by little.
So dream on, friend! Don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become a little bit more possible.
I’ll soon be adding some Goal Setting Worksheets to my blog so keep your eyes peeled for them.
Best regards,
Steve.
