Take a break & get those creative juices flowing again!
Hi all,
I have now returned from my holidays and yes before anyone says it, it was longer than a week in the end. In fact I ended up taking a 3 week holiday to fully re-charge the batteries and I feel so much better for it.
It was nice to have the freedom to take an extra 2 weeks off, something I could not have done before when I was in full-time employment. The truth is I was so exhausted from all the work I had been putting into my online business the last 9 months that I was suffering serious burn out. Which is really the reason for my post today and of course to let you all know that I am back and well from sunny Spain.
So why did I need that extra 2 weeks off?
Well I had started to notice that I was pushing myself too hard and too far. I was taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back trying to finish new projects and expand my business further. I just wasn’t giving myself enough me time. So I took an extra 2 weeks to completely re-charge.In fact the only thing I took with me on holiday remotely connected with my business was my book ” Influence The Psychology of Persuasion” which I could finish on the beach and my Blackberry Phone just so I could respond to any urgent emails.
We all need to take time off now again, to blow away the cobwebs, re-charge and re-gain focus. I actually found that when I returned I was so full of new ideas and inspiration and love for what I do again and all it took was some decent R&R! A lot of my creative juices actually started flowing whilst I was relaxing on the beach, I of course jotted them down for future reference
So remember to take a break once in a while even if it’s in your normal working day, take a walk outside, get some fresh air and come back ready to go again.
Speak to you all soon,
Steve Wilkins

Hey Steve,
It’s good to see you back at work with the rest of us slugs.
I am glad to hear you had a wonderful holiday. Everyone need to take time to chill out.
I think this is a good idea. Maybe I’ll share some of my photos from Northern Minnesota. We visited a cool wolf sanctuary up in Ely, Minnesota which is the beginning of the boundry waters canoe area. Lynne and I really love to visit up there.
Welcome back to the grind.
Jay
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reminder…I think I am at that point about now. I need a break…from everything to recharge and refresh. Guess that’s why they always gave us Christmas, spring and summer break while we were in school.
It sounds like it worked wonderfully for you. Now it’s my turn!
Thanks again…I’ll be back,
Kathy
Thanks Jay.
glad to be back now to be honest and can’t wait to get stuck into it all over again!
Would love to see your photos from Northern Minnesota sometime
Best regards,
Steve
Hi Kathy,
Yes it certainly did do me the world of good and I beleive it gives you a completely different outlook on your business when you take a step back and re-charge the old batteries.
Treat yourself and take some well deserved time off! Enjoy yourself whatever you decide to do!
Kind regards,
Steve
Hi Steve, good to hear you took what time you needed. Sometimes we can be inclined to believe we have to return to work.
Enjoy the journey.
Mandy
