It’s all about the list!

God if I hear that one more time from an Internet Marketing Guru I think I am going to scream! It’s probably the most over-used phrase in Internet marketing history but unfortunately it is probably also the most accurate. And just to top it off it is also probably the most widely ignored phrase in IM history.

I have been an internet marketer for nearly 3 years now and I have to admit that I was told over and over again that I must start building a mailing list right away, but I like many ignored this advice for the first 2 years of my IM career and probably left thousands and thousands of dollars on the table.

You see if I had started building my mailing list right away I probably would have more than triple the amount of subscribers that I already have and this means I would of been able to market my products and affiliate products to 3 times more people bringing in 3 times more money. Now of course I did finally learn that I must start building a list of customers that I could sell to but even when I did start it was by no means easy.

To be honest I didn’t really know where to start, the basics such as setting up an auto-responder form, building a squeeze page and capturing leads were not known to me back then. So I had to go on a quite pain staking journey to learn all of the requirements needed  for building a huge responsive mailing list that I could sell to again and again.

I only wish I had someone to show me the exact methods for building a huge responsive list of customers in the quickest time possible. I spent a year slowly building my opt-in list and adding auto-responder messages that would bring in sales whilst I slept. I remember thinking in the early months of my list building, that if only there was a way to speed up the whole process or someone who could show me step by step by exactly how to do it properly. You see my inbox was always flooded with emails from the experts telling me ‘it’s all in the list” and promising to reveal how that did it, but none of them ever lived up to their promise, so I just carried on building my list slowly with one lead at a time.

I remember checking my Aweber account daily with crossed-fingers hoping to see a flood of sign-ups although I always secretly knew that it would only reveal 1 or 2 at most every few days. I just longed for a way to grab huge amount of opt ins quickly but back then I just couldn’t find anybody willing to reveal their secrets.

Jealous

I am now actually in a position where I have built a very comfortable and substantial list, but all the hard work it took, makes me very jealous that there is now such a way to build a huge amounts of targeted customers and it that it can all be done on complete auto-pilot.
